Austin FC sg (supporter’s group) Los Verdes has partnered with The Plastics, whose mission is to make MLS (Major League Soccer) safer and more inclusive for women and the LQBTQIA+ community.
The Plastics and Los Verdes have collaborated on a scarf that represents the solidarity and exchange between communities: LGBTQ+, womxn, non-binary, Latinx, Tejan@s, Chicanos, Hispanics, and all fellow fútbol lovers.
Inspired by designer Daniel Quasar’s Progress Pride Flag, this scarf was designed by local artist and Los Verdes member Jesse Sosa.
It merges the inclusive colors of the LQBTQIA+ community with the Zarape pattern that represents the Tejano culture of Austin and Central Texas.
100% of proceeds will be donated to Out Youth to aid in their mission to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth in the Austin community.
