To All Austin FC Fans,
On Wednesday night I witnessed something at Q2 Stadium that I had not experienced since arriving in Austin last July. Don’t get me wrong, the atmosphere you produce on matchdays is always amazing and second to none, but on Wednesday night there was one particular moment I thought was truly extraordinary.
It was the 87th minute, and we were being pushed to our limits both physically and mentally. When this happens, an extra effort is required from the whole team in order to get a result over the line – even if sometimes this is just one point. I know for our fans, on a late, hot, and humid mid-week night, providing atmosphere for nearly 90 minutes is demanding too. But these are often the moments when matches are decided.
In that particular moment, I thought you rose to the occasion like I had never seen before. I felt a special energy emanating from you all from the moment we were given that corner. The rest of the story of course you already know: we scored, and we ended up winning a tough game versus one of our neighbors.
Positive energy brings positive things and let me say you were crucial in that particular moment of the game to help the team win.
I thought the energy coming from all of you was phenomenal. It was a special moment, and I would like to personally thank you for that. This experience will definitely stick in my memory for a long time.
You mean everything to us and believe me when I say that we couldn’t have won that game without you.
Let’s keep it up!!
