Evil Mopac, the Austin Twitter account that literally comes from the streets, has posted an interview with Austin FC goalkeeper, Brad Stuver, on the Evil Mopac podcast.
The mysterious Evil Mopac is joined by Austin FC goalie Brad Stuver on the Evil Mopac podcast to discuss the challenging 2023 season, his origin story with Ashley, recruiting Messi to move to Austin, who he’d save from a desert island between Bassi, Ferreria, and Vela, and more.
Austin FC have signed goalkeeper Brad Stuver to a new contract through the 2025 MLS season with an option for 2026.
Stuver joined Austin FC before their 2021 MLS debut, arriving via free agency after previous stops at New York City FC and the Columbus Crew. He also spent time as a pool goalkeeper.
The 31-year-old has emerged as one of MLS’s top goalkeepers and helped Austin reach the Western Conference Final in the Audi 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs.
Before arriving at Austin, Stuver played in nine league games across the 2013-20 campaigns.
Over the past two seasons, he has had 13 clean sheets in 64 games and has stopped three of 10 penalty kicks faced.
In 2022, Stuver became the first-ever MLS player to be named a nominee for the ESPN Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award at the ESPYs.
He was also named a finalist for MLS Works Humanitarian of the Year in 2021 and 2022 for his community-based advocacy and fundraising across the Central Texas region.

Austin FC is headed to the Western Conference Semifinal of the Audi 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs on Sunday, October 23 at 7:00 PM CT at Q2 Stadium.
After a wild first-ever playoff match ended in penalty kicks with an Austin FC win over Real Salt Lake, the club made it on to the next round.
And what a match that was, with an early 2-0 deficit equalized in extra time in the second half.
It was stressful and amazing to see Driussi get the brace to tie it, and then a shootout dominated by Austin FC with incredible saves by Brad Stuver and goals from Sebastian Driussi, Diego Fagundez, and Emiliano Rigoni.
Season ticket holders were charged for the next round of tickets if they didn’t opt-out of the automatic purchases.

Austin FC threw a Playoff Party at Scholz Garten on Tuesday, October 11 and it was a magical, fun, rowdy atmosphere.
The official start time was 7:00 PM and I arrived about that time and got to the back of a giant line. By the time I made it in, every inch of the place was filled with people in verde and black.
The night kicked off with La Murga playing as Adrian Healey took the stage to pump things up.
This was followed by some words from Claudio Reyna and Josh Wolff, as well as appearances from Alex Ring, Ruben Gabrielson, Brad Stuver, Diego Fagundez, and Sebastian Driussi.
Then it was time for a performance from Annabelle Chairlegs.
Such a fun night leading up to the first ever Austin FC playoff match this weekend.
ESPN has announced the nominees for the 2022 Sports Humanitarian awards and Austin FC goalkeeper Brad Stuver was nominated for the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award.
The winner will be announced at the 2022 ESPYS on Wednesday, July 20.
Stuver is one of four nominees for the award, joining Anthony Barr of the Minnesota Vikings, Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals, and Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Award will benefit the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund at the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
Stuver is actively involved with Current Initiatives’ The Laundry Project, an organization that holds events to provide free laundry services and materials to low-income families. He has led seven such events in just over a year since arriving in Austin and organized multiple supply drives to collect donations.
Stuver is a foundation board of trustees member for Equality Texas, the largest LGBTQIA+ advocacy nonprofit in Texas. He is also an ambassador for Athlete Ally, an organization that works to encourage athletes to be outspoken for LGBTQIA+ equality.
He was named one of three finalists for Major League Soccer’s MLS Works Humanitarian of the Year award in 2021 and was the inaugural winner of the 4ATX Foundation Legend of the Year Award for his outstanding commitment to helping build physically, socially, and emotionally healthy communities through soccer.
Stuver was a featured speaker at this year’s South by Southwest Conference in Austin, in a session titled “Athlete Activism: Using Sport for Social Good.”
It’s great to see Stuver getting noticed for the great things he does off the pitch.
