Austin FC will be hosting the 2019 Austin FC eMLS Challenge where they will invite players from throughout central Texas to compete in an online and live event series.
There will be an online EA SPORTS FIFA 20 tournament from October 27th – 28th to identify eight finalists who will be invited to compete in front of a live crowd at the Valhalla Esports Lounge in downtown Austin on November 13th.
Here are some details on the first Austin FC eMLS Challenge:
- Two online tournament open qualifiers will be held – one on October 27th for those that prefer to compete with their FIFA Ultimate Team and one on October 28th for those that prefer to compete head to head with their favorite MLS Club. Up to 120 players may participate in each online qualifier.
- The four (4) finalists from each online qualifier, for a total of eight (8) players, will advance to the live finals on Wednesday, November 13th from 7pm – 10pm at Valhalla Esports Lounge, 710 B W. 6th St., Austin, TX 78701
- The final eight (8) players will compete in front of a live audience in quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final to determine the Austin FC eMLS Challenge champion.
- In addition to the opportunity to represent Austin FC, finalists will earn EA SPORTS FIFA 20 points, receive Austin FC merchandise, and other prizes.
- The Austin FC eMLS Challenge is solely open to participants on PlayStation 4.
