The 2021 edition of the ACL (Austin City Limits) Festival was the first one where concert goers were able to wear the Austin FC kit and there were lots of people wearing it.
But the presence of Austin FC kits was just a small part of the fusion of soccer and festival fun in Austin.
On the final day of ACL, October 10, the performance by local band Nané included members of the Austin FC supporter section band, La Murga de Austin.

Nané was interviewed on a past episode of the Verde and Black Podcast by host Adrian Healey, the Austin FC TV play by play voice.
There was also a conversation at the ACL Festival between author and researcher Brené Brown and Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent on the popular soccer-themed show.
Awesome to see Roy F’ing Kent holding up the Austin FC kit, and it looks like he was doing his trademark growl.
It’s always fun to see Austin FC immersed in the Austin community and I look forward to future instances of soccer into Austin life.
